What Is FootZoning? Here’s How Your Feet Can Help You Heal

“Amber is a fantastic person who happens to be a masterful foot zoner. When I went to see Amber my first time for a foot zoning I was not sure what to expect, but was put at ease right when I walked in. Her kind and open personality was comforting. She has a very comfy area for the zoning; inviting music and relaxing chair, but the best part is how she explains the process before beginning and really just wants her clients to feel relaxed and special. She is never rushed and always focused on the client. One of the best parts is that she has a plethora of information that will help the client. She even provides pen and paper to write down all the wonderful knowledge she has from her years of zoning.

My initial issues of depression, no appetite, irritability and emotional issues have all been decreased and just about gone away. I owe it all to Amber’s zoning and caring orders about how food can help cure me of my ailments. It is an amazing process.

Her care, kindness, years of zoning has made her an expert in this field of zoning. All in all, she cares about our body on all levels: physically, emotionally, and spiritually. My favorite thing that Amber says is one step at a time and you can only do what you can do.

Thank you Amber for everything you do.”

What Is FootZonology?

FootZonology is the science of balancing, rejuvenating and detoxifying the body through the signal system in the feet. Although it is a treatment on the physical body, FootZonology also balances the mental and emotional bodies to bring all systems into harmony. A foot zone consists of both ZoneBalance and ZoneAnalysis.

In ZoneAnalysis, the Zonologist uses a process of analyzing to determine what is felt through the signals in the feet. Areas in the body that contain imbalances can be discovered. The Zonologist can detect residues and disturbances from food, drink, eating habits, chemicals, heavy metals, food additives, and drugs; as well as the presence of foreign living organisms such as parasites, viruses, bacteria, and fungus. Emotional and mental disturbances can also be detected during ZoneAnalysis.

Each cell in our body has a signal on our feet, and by accessing the signal, the cells are prompted at a DNA level to repair and renew themselves. The process of Zone Balance acts as a catalyst and a guide for the body to awaken its natural self-healing capabilities, and for detrimental emotional and mental patterns to start breaking up and release.

FootZonology treats the entire body as a whole. All of our body’s systems are interrelated and work together synergistically for optimal health and wellness. Imbalances can occur in the body if only one area is isolated and treated at a time. By treating the entire body each time, a harmonious balance can be maintained in the body, which will lead to overall vitality and wellness.

The key component behind FootZonology is the belief that we all have an inner blueprint. Before we came “earthside,” so to speak, we were all created perfectly. This beautiful perfection is an inner intelligence in the body. Our bodies know how to heal, whether it be from a wound or even a spinal cord injury. Isn’t it amazing how women’s bodies know how to create a human? I certainly didn’t know how to grow one, but my body knew exactly what to do – and this is from the inner blueprint. However, in the womb and in the world, we have inherited, encountered, and/or developed patterns, toxins, and pathogens that take us away from that perfect blueprint. Our bodies become dis-eased, or not in the ease of our perfection. The DNA matrix gets taken over by the matrix of the world. FootZonology helps us reconnect with that inner blueprint, so we can get closer and closer back to the beautiful, healthy body, mind, and spirit that we were meant to have.

How is FootZonology different from reflexology, Foot Zone Therapy, and other treatments to do with the feet?

At first glance, reflexology seems similar to FootZonology, but FootZonology is much more precise and in-depth. Reflexology is like the tip of the iceberg above the water, and FootZonology is like the entire iceberg that continues much, much deeper below the surface. Reflexology works only on the surface level of the physical body, while FootZonology can work much more effectively on the physical as well as the emotional and mental systems that are all intertwined. Additionally, reflexology works by pushing on certain points – but only on a singular meridian. FootZonology works with seven horizontal meridians, ten vertical meridians, and more – a much more multi-faceted approach in order to shift the DNA code of every cell for healing – back to the inner blueprint.

Foot Zone Therapy and FootZonology started with the same ancient roots. Dr. Charles Ersdal, M.D. made researching Foot Zone Therapy his life’s work. He mentored Katri Nordblom, a German-trained naturopath, who made discoveries of her own relating to the signals in the feet (specifically the inner organs and the pancreas), as well as how to analyze the current state of the body through accessing the signals in the feet. As Katri went on to detect other information about the signals in the body, she shifted the treatment according to her discoveries – and thus, the FootZonology technique was created.

Foot Zone Therapy does not implement Katri’s additional discoveries and does not follow the same guidelines for healing protocols. For these reasons, and others, one does not see the same results from Foot Zone Therapy as one would from FootZonology.

You may hear me talk about FootZonology as “foot zoning” and call myself a “zoner” and “zonologist” interchangeably – however, when going to a Foot Zone Therapist, be aware that the philosophy, technique, process, and results will be very different than FootZonology.

What can I expect in a foot zoning session?

The FootZonologist can analyze the foot and recognize the imbalances that are taking place inside the body. One will methodically roll, press, or slide knuckles and thumbs along the tops, bottoms, and sides of your feet. A foot zone session helps to detox and rejuvenate the cells & organs in the body and helps bring the body back to a more balanced state. After a zone, a client can feel energized or more relaxed. The client should drink plenty of water throughout the day. An epsom salt bath is always wonderful after a Foot Zoning treatment.

In my sessions, we talk about what I’m understanding from the feet and what to do to treat the root cause of the issues. We may discuss removing and adding certain foods to the diet, supplements, essential oils, self-care methods, and other tools to address the imbalances detected. I do not keep record of my recommendations for each client, so many people like to take notes or audio-record the session.

Each FootZonologist has their own unique gifts to offer you. However, the foot zone treatment technique is the same each time, and will rebalance your systems equally from one FootZonologist or another. Even if you get zoned by the same Zonologist every time, your body is different and has different imbalances each time you get treated. This is why one will not feel the exact same after every zoning session – but the body’s systems will be brought closer to balance.

Sessions usually last between 40 minutes and one hour.

How often can you get foot zoned?

Each person varies depending on what the condition of the body is. If you’re healthy and well, you can get a treatment once every 4-6 weeks. Other acute conditions can be advised to be Foot Zoned a few times a week.

How can I learn FootZonology?

Anyone with commitment and effort can learn Foot Zoning! Foot Zoning is a tool to help you become more self reliant, more aware of the human body and how it functions. You will learn all about herbs, nutrition, food, essential oils and all the systems in the body. This class is for those who have a desire to learn more about their bodies, how to care for their bodies and the health of their loved ones. There is an increasing demand for foot zoning – you may even wish to become a professional zoner.

The Beginning Foot Zoning Certification includes 10 manuals, 6 DVDs, instruction and all 3 exams (written, oral and practical). The standard duration is 16 sessions: twice a month for 8 months in the Bay Area. However, distance learning is also possible (see below).

Each week you will be expected to work on your studies (homework and practical) 4-5 hours a week. With each manual you will receive specific instructions, detailed handouts and MP3 files covering the topics.

The prerequisite to taking Beginning Foot Zoning is the completion of the Radical Healing online course.

Absolutely. It is possible to take this course remotely. There are three occasions when your presence is mandatory: the beginning weekend of the course, exams, and graduation. The rest of the sessions will be held online or in person every other month (please reach out about the in-person sessions if you are remote). Even if you live far away, it would be my recommendation to attend at least a few in-person sessions so you can hone your technique. This would be important for the practical exam.

My team is working on putting together a course for 2022-23 – to be determined!

What impact can FootZonology have on your life?

Here are what some of my clients and students have to say:

“I’ve always had a curiosity about obtaining healthy vitality through natural means. Before stumbling upon Amber’s work, I tried to sift through conflicting messages of what that actually meant. It wasn’t until I sat in her chair for the first time that I discovered, yes, there is indeed a better way. Your body CAN heal.

Amber’s gift is undeniable. It amazed me that just by working on my feet, so much information could be gleaned. With patience and heartfelt care, she coached me through what to toss, what to keep, and what to add to my weekly shopping list. Once I experienced the mental and physical benefits of her work, I started bringing friends and family members because the information was just too good not to share.

Now, nearly four years later, I too am a certified foot, face, and hand zoner. Studying under Amber has given me a variety of methodologies to support the health and vitality of my loved ones. She remains a mentor and friend that I know I can turn to whenever a question arises. Amber Bodily has opened so many doors for me, and for that, I am forever grateful.”

– Annora Ho, School Teacher & Certified Foot Zoner

“I am a massage therapist by trade, so I took Amber’s back zoning class to learn more techniques to add to my services. I felt there was more knowledge to gain from this wonderful technique, so I took foot zoning so I could get the whole picture. Foot zoning class was an amazing thing. I loved it! Not only did you learn a modality that could help people, but I also learned exactly what I wanted to know about the human body. I felt like foot zoning finally completed how the whole body worked together for me. I really enjoyed learning all that. I started offering foot zoning, but back zones are still my favorite. It was a great enhancement to my business – an alternative modality that my clients ended up loving!

Taking the foot zoning class was also a gift for me and my family. We started changing our diet and feeling better. Now most of my family is vegetarian or vegan, and they feel great! They tell me they have less stomach pain after stopping dairy. I personally feel like I have more vitality and strength than other people my age.

I had a hip incident a few years ago. That was scary. I fell and couldn’t walk. Although people insisted that I go to the doctor, I knew I had the tools to heal myself. I used what I learned from foot zoning, as well as getting chiropractic work and other body work done, and within 2 weeks I could walk. I was nervous about trying to heal with natural methods, but it worked! I felt like I came back stronger, and with even more knowledge and confidence about healing. I also had 3 long years of detoxing from heavy metals, with most of my symptoms showing up on my skin. I stuck with the protocol, and it cleared up. I say this to give hope to others who may feel like healing is taking so long, or doesn’t seem to be working… Keep persevering! Healing this way gets at the root of the condition – it’s not a band-aid. You can actually heal.

For anyone thinking about taking Amber’s classes, they are so worth the time and money. Amber is so full of knowledge, and the best part is she actually lives what she teaches. They are worth whatever sacrifice you have to make!”
– Leisa Jarman, Certified Massage & Bodywork Therapist, Owner of Bodiology

“For a long time I tried to learn how to live a healthier life, but there is just so much information out there that is contradictory and confusing. I met Amber when I had given up and was feeling sick. What she said really resonated with me. I decided to set up an appointment with her, and lo and behold – her advice worked! My chronic UTI’s disappeared and other aches and pains started going away. What really got me was when my fatigue lifted. I had followed her dietary suggestions and within 2 days noticed a big difference in my energy! After being zoned, I felt more relaxed than I can ever remember feeling, and could feel my body cleaning out.

I decided I had to learn footzoning. Learning from Amber was like drinking from a fire hose of knowledge. I have a degree in molecular biology, but my physiology classes in college didn’t go as in depth or in detail as Amber’s foot zoning class. And it’s not just about the zoning – it’s about nutrition, essential oils, herbs, energy, and even more. It’s about learning a whole new lifestyle that creates amazing health. The information is SO valuable, life-changing, and empowering, and worth every penny and then some! Not only that, I love that I can take care of my kids’ health without rushing to the doctor. I’m no longer afraid of them getting sick or hurt – or even of myself getting old – because I have so many tools to help us.

Before meeting Amber, I was an unhappy person who was tired and ill all the time. Now, I am in love with life and running my own foot zoning practice! I am living with exuberance, and foot zoning was the catalyst for changing my life!”
