Fresh and Nourishing Green Lemonade Recipe

Nutrition

Spring always makes my family and me crave lemonade! Of course the bright sunshine, time outside, and after school hunger is one reason we are all craving a refreshment, but it is also exactly what our body wants this time of year. As we transition from winter, our blood and energy levels are adjusting. We can support an internal “spring cleaning” by feeding ourselves purifying foods. Do we need any more reason to try this delicious drink?

Here’s how:

1) Grab your juicer. Don’t have one? I recommend Breville’s Juice Fountain.

2) Put the following in your juicer:

  • 1 large bunch kale
  • 2-3 lemons
  • 3-4 apples (I use green)

3) Serve with ice cubes and a smile!

This is the most potent and nourishing green lemonade out there! You can dilute with water if the taste is too tart for you.

As you sip, delight in the fact that the kale is going to work to aid digestion and liver health!  The vitamin C it contains hydrates your body, relieves stiff joints, and increases your metabolism. Kale helps more oxygen get to your blood, thereby fighting viruses and bacteria. Moreover, you are gaining energy from phytochemicals and becoming more grounded with this combination of Mother Nature’s treats.

Now that is something we can all raise a glass to!
