What are heavy metals, how are they getting in our bodies, and what do they do to our health? Little do we know that toxic heavy metals in our system can damage our brains, wreak havoc on many of the body’s systems (including the central nervous system and the immune system), and feed viruses and pathogens that cause a barrage of chronic and mystery health conditions and symptoms.
What are heavy metals and how do they get in my body?
The heavy metals that are toxic to our systems include mercury, aluminum, copper, cadmium, lead, arsenic, nickel, chrome, alloy, and steel. Unfortunately, when we were born as little babies into this world, we inherited the heavy metals that our ancestors had in their bodies, particularly the mercury they hadn’t known until too late was extremely toxic. Heavy metals are also everywhere in our present-day environment. Food is still cooked with aluminum foil; parks and apartment buildings are sprayed with pesticides that often contain heavy metals; houses contain copper pipes – the list goes on.
What do heavy metals do to my health?
Have you ever felt that, try as you might, you couldn’t get a task done because you couldn’t concentrate? Have you or a loved one ever felt the dulling edge of depression? As these toxic heavy metals circulate in our bodies, they oxidize and cause even more damage. They feed bacteria (such as streptococcus) and other viruses and pathogens in the body. Toxic heavy metals are often the root cause behind any kind of problematic cognitive function, including but not limited to ADHD, ADD, mood disorders, depression, memory loss, and Alzheimer’s. The bacteria that feeds off of heavy metals can cause gut problems, numbness, fatigue, anxiety, heart palpitations, dizziness or vertigo, and many other conditions depending on the individual.
How can I remove heavy metals?
Removing these heavy metals from our system is an incredible way to start healing. Once heavy metals are drained from the system, the body can fully absorb the nutrients is has been deprived of, nerve connections are faster and efficient, brain fog clears, and the body and mind begin to thrive.
There are 5 specific foods that work together to pull out toxic heavy metals in a highly efficient manner. Through my training as a Master Foot Zonologist and a Master Herbalist, I learned about each of these foods and their healing properties. Cilantro is a remarkable heavy-metal detoxifier and is able to remove mercury and aluminum from where it is stored in the adipose (fat) tissues. Cilantro is also able to mobilize mercury rapidly from the brain and central nervous system by separating it from the fat tissue and moving into the blood & lymph where when combined with a blue green algae such as spirulina it can be removed safely and effectively from the body. Barley grass JUICE powder (not to be confused with barley grass powder) is one of the most nutrient rich foods in nature and has been used since ancient times for medicinal and healing purposes. The ingredients in this smoothie work together to powerfully remove heavy metals from the system, which cause a multitude of symptoms and illness. Originally put together by Anthony William, the Medical Medium.
- 2 cups wild blueberries
- 1 cup cilantro
- 1 tsp spirulina
- 1 tsp barley grass juice powder
- 1 small handful Atlantic dulse
- Optional for flavor: 1 cup fresh pressed orange juice, 2 bananas
- Place all ingredients in a high-speed blender.
- Blend, adding up to 1 cup water for a thinner consistency if desired.
My tip for getting kids to gobble these ingredients? Pour the smoothie into popsicle molds and let them have as many as they want!
What else can I do to remove heavy metals?
Drinking celery juice on an empty stomach first thing in the morning is an incredible way to support the removal of toxic heavy metals. Removing wheat, dairy, pork, and eggs from your diet will exponentially increase your healing. These foods feed viruses and pathogens in the body, and their absence will help the removal of heavy metals. Lowering your consciously-sourced animal protein intake to once a day, or if vegan or vegetarian lowering plant-based fats will also help lighten the load on the liver so it can focus on shedding the toxins. While detoxing these metals, enjoy an abundance of fruit and vegetables to support the process, feel satiated, and gain their healing benefits.
