Vitamin C and Cancer
High amounts of Vitamin C have been proven to target and kill cancer cells and stop tumor growth – and studies show it is even up to ten times more effective than pharmaceuticals for that task. Viral cells, tumors, lesions, pre-cancer cells, cancer cells, etc – they all cannot stand Vitamin C! Vitamin C can help break down nodules, tumors, and cysts. Vitamin C also helps your body recycle glutathione, which has powerful anti-cancer effects. For these reasons, it is extremely important to have lots of Vitamin C in your daily regimen.
Vitamin C and Detox
Vitamin C is also anti-inflammatory and cleanses the liver, blood, and lymph. It will help your body effectively remove toxins. Vitamin C also strengthens the adrenal glands, repairs damaged neurotransmitters, and restores the central nervous system. Detoxing is a key part of any health or wellness journey – an uncomfortable but inevitable and absolutely necessary part. Sometimes it can be difficult for people with certain dis-eases in the body to detox effectively – until they get the right supports for their body.
Vitamin C and Your Immune System
It’s no secret that Vitamin C strengthens your immune system. By increasing your white blood cell count (the kind of cells that attack viruses, bacteria, mold, fungus, and other unwanted microorganisms in your body), Vitamin C is a powerful player in your immune response. There are other ways Vitamin C helps support your body such as reducing inflammation, acting as a cleanser for other bodily systems, and assisting the effectiveness of the immune system. Just think – if your body is less inflamed, it’s easier for your white blood cells to move through your body and attack what’s causing trouble! Vitamin C is absolutely needed on a regular basis to support the entire body, but at the first sign of cold or flu, it can also be very helpful as Vitamin C shock therapy. It is also being used to treat Covid-19. In fact, “appropriate clinical studies and reports demonstrate that a timely administration of high dose IV Vit-C improves the outcome of Covid19 infection.”
This vital vitamin also boosts the liver’s immune system, and is used in thousands of chemical functions that the liver performs in your body. Vitamin C can help revive a sluggish liver, break up and dispel fat cells buried in the liver, support the recovery of a stress-burdened liver, and heal scar tissue in the liver’s core. Vitamin C is not a supplement that you need to take only when you are ill – it’s essential for overall good health. In fact, many people are unknowingly walking around with vitamin C deficiency, which contributes to the onset of almost any disease.
How To Get High-Quality Vitamin C
FOODS & HERBS
Nature knows what it’s doing. My first recommendation is to always turn back to fresh foods from the earth to support your body. For those low in iron, food levels of Vitamin C – as well as the proper levels of zinc and B12 – support the absorption of iron in the body. Please keep in mind that all fruits and vegetables contain some amount of Vitamin C, so if you focus on getting in as many fresh foods as you can that is very helpful. However, here are some foods especially high in Vitamin C:
- Cranberries
- Fennel
- Garlic
- Horseradish
- Kiwis
- Leafy greens
- Lemons
- Oranges
- Rose hip tea
- Tangerines
- Tomatoes
SUPPLEMENTATION
It is crucial to note that high-quality Vitamin C is needed. Emergen-C from Walgreens is not going to reverse your cancer or improve your immune defenses; plus, it usually contains a form of MSG, “natural flavors” (read “concoction of chemicals”), and other preservatives I wouldn’t recommend ingesting.
So what is good Vitamin C?
I recommend liposomal C (made without corn!) and love the brand LipoNaturals. My favorite capsule form is C From Nature by Purium. You can also use Micro-C from Vimergy, or Ester-C from Pure Encapsulation. These supplemental forms of vitamin C are high quality forms that are easily able to be absorbed and used by your body. You can start by taking the recommended dose, but I suggest slowly working up to a much higher dose. Be sure to work with a practitioner as you do this.
Another way to get in Vitamin C is to use amla powder. The amla berry has very concentrated forms of Vitamin C, and is also rich in calcium and iron. The use of amla powder is common in Ayurvedic medicine. Amla powder helps boost the immune system, helps manage diabetes, and is anti-aging. This powder is easy to throw into a smoothie! I like the Terrasoul brand.
You can also use camu-camu powder, which is also rich in Vitamin C. Camu-camu increases energy and is also good for gum, skin, and eye health. It is rich in antioxidants and fabulous for fighting viral infections. Camu-camu is commonly used in South America. Terrasoul is a great brand, but any brand should be okay as long as it is organic.
VITAMIN C IV
When it is appropriate for the body, a Vitamin C IV drip is a powerful way to support the immune system as the body fights off cancer. If you choose to do this treatment, make sure the vitamin C in the IV is high quality, non-GMO, and non-corn-derived. Such Vitamin C exists, despite what some hospitals will tell you! I recommend having this treatment on a weekly basis or every other week (depending on your condition). This treatment is not a one-time event. As you consistently receive treatments, your body will get stronger as your immune system is repaired.
PRO TIP:
Want to enhance the vitamin C you are taking? Get some sunlight directly onto your skin for at least 5 minutes. The sun’s rays contain hundreds of vitamins and minerals that can be absorbed through the skin, and strengthens and enhances the nutrients you are consuming. The sun is your healing friend, and getting even a few minutes of sunlight a day is immensely beneficial for your health!
